ABOUT THE WAKEBOARD PORTUGAL PROJECT
The Wakeboard Portugal project, debuted in 2015, is setting Portugal on the wakeboard world map! In Castelo do Bode Lake, on over than 30kms we can find the World’s first Wakeboard Resort. With 5 different locations, each one with one two tower system and cutting edge water features, all connected with boat transfers, this is a world class destination for PRO athletes, wakeboard fans and visitors.
The Resort is set to be launched this June, during the Nautique European Pro/Am.
The agreement with the World Wakeboard Association (The WWA) consists on having 3 prestige international events in Portugal for 3 years. In 2015 we organised what was considered on of the best event ever, the WWA Supra Wakeboard World Championships. This year we bring to Portugal the prestige Nautique European Pro/Am.
Wakeboard Portugal’s mission is guaranteeing that wakeboard is reachable and affordable for everyone and at the same time to turn this region and the country as one world class wakeboard and tourist destination for all the fans all over the world.

Our climate, super clean water and outstanding landscapes at the Castelo do Bode Lake turns this region as one of the best for wakeboarding in the entire world.
The municipalities of Abrantes, Ferreira do Zêzere, Serta, Tomar and Vila de Rei, the Intermunicipal Community of the Middle Tagus, the Tourism Center and the Portuguese Wakeboard and Wakeskate Association (APWW) in consortium with EIPWU (creators of 7 Wonders ® project) joint venture in order to promote this new destination using wakeboarding as the main vehicle, a sport that is on the rise worldwide.
The river beaches of Aldeia do Mato, Lago Azul, Trízio, Montes and Fernandaires will have cable systems implemented making what is considered the world’s first wakeboard resort.
This is a pioneering vision of water sports potential in Portugal and a strategic project to establish Portugal as the European cluster of Wakeboard and Wakeskate and highlight Castelo do Bode Lake on the wakeboard events world map.
